Community Involvement

Devoted in Every Way

Nouvel Air's team is completely devoted to their sport. But that doesn't stop them from devoting time to supporting certain social causes. Quite the opposite, in fact!

The members of our team channel their passion for skydiving and their eagerness to push beyond the limits towards volunteering for several charities each year. Here are three charitable causes that Nouvel Air proudly supports through its activities.

Since its inception over 25 years ago, the Children's Wish Foundation has granted over 18,000 wishes for sick children. Since 2010, Nouvel Air has worked hard to help fulfill as many wishes as possible.

The dropzone does this by hosting the Jumping for Life event, a fun-filled day with family-centred activities and festivities. The event, organized by Luce Maillet, a Children's Wish Foundation volunteer, makes it possible to raise donations through the participation of generous donors who sign up for the central activity: the tandem parachute jump.

By making its facilities available to organizers and donors, Nouvel Air helps make this event successful, with a DJ, animation, makeup, inflatable play structures for kids, a clown, and more. To support the cause, our dropzone also helps collect funds, and gives Ms. Maillet a large part of the profits made during the day. A gift from the heavens: most of our instructors also donate part of their salaries to the Foundation on the day of the event.

Thanks to the large contribution made by each participant, and with Nouvel Air's help, the Jumping for Life event has raised almost $14,000 to date.

The third edition of this special event will be held on August 11, 2012. For more information, visit the Jumping for Life page on the Children’s Wish Foundation website.

Cowansville and Area Physically Disabled Persons Association (APHPCR)

"Alone, we may go faster, but together, we can go farther." It almost seems like APHPCR's slogan was chosen just for one of its fundraising events, called "Jumpers!"

Once a year, the APHPCR recruits about forty brave jumpers to raise funds for their activities. During the event, everyone is invited to make a tandem jump, even people with physical disabilities. Some of the councillors from surrounding cities also participate in this event. And to show the value of teamwork, our dropzone also contributes by welcoming organizers and participants to its site.

Thanks to Nouvel Air’s efforts, the organization raises around $4,000 during this event.

The second edition of this event will be held on June 16, 2012. For more information, visit the APHPCR website.

AboutFace

The AboutFace charitable organization provides support to individuals with facial disfigurements. The organization not only develops assistance programs and raises funds, but also provides public awareness programs for Canadians.

For four years, Nouvel Air Skydiving has supported this organization by hosting the Leap of Faith event, which is an annual Canada-wide fundraising campaign organized by AboutFace.

With our dropzone’s help, the organization aims to raise funds to enable 10- to 18-year-olds to participate in Trailblazers camps—a unique life experience for them. On the day of the event, members of AboutFace jump for their cause. This event is a great way for our team to contribute to the well-being of these youth.

Nouvel Air Skydiving will host the next Leap of Faith event on June 23, 2012. For more information, visit the AboutFace website.
